The 105 mm Howitzer M2A1(M101) was the standard light field howitzer for the United States in World War II, seeing action in both European and Pacific theaters. Entering production in 1941, it quickly entered the war against the Japanese Imperial Army in the Pacific, where it gained a reputation for its accuracy and powerful punch.

History
The M101 fired 105 mm H.E. semi-fixed ammunition and had a range of 11,200 m, making it suitable for supporting infantry. All these important qualities of the weapon, along with its widespread production, led to its adoption by many countries after the war. Its ammunition type also became the standard for many foreign countries' later models
Tactics & Tips
- It has the largest artillery range in the game.
- The howitzer is not very accurate at it's maximum range. It tends to arch over it's intended target while firing at long range. Exploit it and aim five meters nearer the howitzer when shooting at an advancing enemy at this range - not only will the first shot more likely actually do damage, the proceeding ones shall also block their advance route.
- Within the "yellow mini map circle" though, it's an entirely different story. Shoot directly at the enemy, otherwise the barrage will be wasted.
- A beast versus infantry, it is fares poorly versus tanks. Good for finishing off injured ones, but not much else as most shots will bounce off the enemy armor, and the other ones won't do much damage.
- Repair Bunkers are a viable target only if the barrage can't be spent better elsewhere. It will take two barrages to destroy it.
- Expect the enemy to attack your howitzer and kill it by any means necessary. Exploit the enemies frustration by setting up forward mines around the howitzer or a trap.
- A single firestorm usually destroys the gun, however the howitzer sometimes survives. Do not let the enemy take advantage of that.
- Officer(Wehrmacht) observed fires destroy the gun, so do not let an officer get close to it.
