Clown Car
From OMGWiki
Clown Cars are a tactic of using a half track filled with either riflemen, armed with sticky bombs, or engineer´s armed with demolition charges to kill enemy units. Some people consider it a grief tactic.
Origin
The Clown Car first appeared in a game on Abbeville where a allied player (Arkanadas) used a half track filled with rifles to crash into a Tiger and sticky it. The Axis player (APEX) responded "What´s this? A fucking Clown Car!" and so it was born.
Development
Picking up on the general idea, Thtb proceeded to use a different variation of the clown car, filled with two or three engineers with demolition charges. This happened in a older Version of EiR where demolition charges would:
- Blow up if a tank drives over them
- Could be placed anywhere
- Could be placed instantly by using a certain exploit
Thtb would then take two clown cars, both filled with engineers and rush them at a enemy Tiger, pop out and plant the charges in front and behind the enemy tiger, while at the same time using the half tracks to block him from moving. He would then trigger one of the demolition charges, resulting in a chain reaction that was almost 100% sure to kill the Tiger for the relatively low cost of six engineers and two half tracks, roughly 900 Manpower.
Players would then refuse to play against people that use this tactic (although not many did, since it needs a lot of Intense Micro) since they would lose there beloved Vet. Units to them.
Thtb also did the same thing on the axis side and used insta-placed goliaths, however this was stopped due to lack of high cost allied targets.
