If you wish you gift your award/reward to someone else you feel is more worthy, send me a PM. Reward units are doctrine specific. They have 0 resupply so once lost, they're gone forever. Also, post which War company you want to have your reward units be added to. If you happen to win 2 reward units, you'll have a unit added to each company.
A final note, players may not win the
SAME award
2 wars consecutively. For example next war I cannot win the teachers award, however the war after I may. So please bear that in mind when you are trying to get yourself an award for the upcoming war.
